Grand Master Jacob Lunon

Grand Master Jacob LunonJacob (J.B.) Lunon is the Founder and Grand Master (9th Dan) of Macabee Martial Arts and founder of Shaolin White Dragon Kung Fu/Karate system. Master Lunon heads Macabee Martial Arts International. He holds a 7th degree Black Belt in Okinawan Karate. He is a certified Master Rank Examiner for the United States Martial Arts Association, certified Sports Yoga Instructor with National Endurance Sports Trainers Association, certified Commando Krav Maga instructor, and in 2007 was inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame. In 1980 Master Lunon was the AAU National Kung Fu/Karate Welter weight runner up, rated 2nd in the nation and 7th in the world.

Sijo (Grand Master) Lunon began training at age 14 in Shudokan Karate under Joe Klein at the Teaneck School of Self Defense. He later came under the guidance of Grand Master William Chung, the 13th descendent of the Hung Gar Village style, whose roots stem from the Shaolin Temple, Hunan Providence, China. Mr. Lunon opened the Chinese Martial Arts center in Pittsfield, MA in the late 1970’s with Sifu Robert Dutcher of the Pai Lum Kung Fu system. He later became the adopted son of its first American Grand Master, Thomas St. Charles. Jacob has studied with other renowned martial artists such as Ritchie Barrathy, Owen Watson, Sifu Ken Lo of the Wu Mei Kung Fu Association and the late Great Grand Master Daniel K. Pai.

For 10 years Grand Master Lunon worked with Thomas House mentoring high risk youth, with many successes in turning kids around. He was also on the board of Friendship Circle of Washington where he volunteered teaching kung fu to children with special needs.

Grand Master Lunon is a graduate of the Stella Adler Acting Studio where he trained personally with Ms. Adler. He has appeared in over 30 New York theater productions as well as film and television.
